so.

the company (bostoncomputing.net) that hosts my band's website got fucked with by a clandestine spammer. some guy signed up and tried to send 36,000,000 emails earlier. 36 million. all spam, all at once.

needless to say it shut down the servers and the admin had to send someone to where the servers are located and manually purge the queue of all the shit. so he charged the guy who did it five thousand dollars (the cost it takes to have an hour of downtime and send a tech to the server) and is suing him for violating the terms of service in the contract that he signed when he signed up for hosting access.

i like the charging him 5 grand part because the spam guy was dumb enough to sign a contract stating that he is not a spammer and also gave his billing information. so if he doesn'[t pay the five large he will be sent to collection.

this is the first heartwarming spammer story i have heard.
