this little grommet inside my scanner exploded off of its little spindle. the belt that drives the image capturing lighted whirring rig went immobile as i was scanning something and i had to go absolutely macguyver on the thing. i have detailed webcam pictures of the entire ordeal of me disassembling, fixing and subsequently reassembling the scanner, but i think they're boring. to test the scanner i let 'er rip as i was putting the glass back on.this is what it did:
